On March 19, 1953 Jehovah blessed all with a beautiful soul, named Vicky. She was born to Clephus Washington and Opal Nero in Phoenix, AZ. She lived there for most of her life. She had countless friends that grew to be more like family than friends. She had three wonderful daughters that she loved with all her heart.
Through all the struggles that she encountered,¬† she persevered, overcame, and with strength thru faith, she when forward. She moved to Tucson, AZ where she became a Substance Abuse Interventionist, at the University of Arizona. She mentored and counseled many, impacting a myriad of people.
Her journey of success even inspired her cousin Bobbie Burns to write a book entitled " Shelter ".
After enjoying a full life in Tucson, she uprooted and moved to Texas in 2007. In 2010 made Orange her home. She continued to make friends that grew to be more like family and was loved by many.
She was called to Glory on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur, TX.
She leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life, her fiance, Timothy Atkinson, of Orange, TX, her beloved daughters, Tasha Nero of Phoenix, AZ, Opal Tillman and¬†Tomorrow Douglas, both of Orange, 10 amazing grandchildren, her loving God children, Victoria Villarreal of Boise, ID, and Treva McGuffin, Gregorio Vasquez, and Steven Valenzuela all of Tucson, AZ.
