Wesley Winson Ard, age 87, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born to Cary Ard and Erma DuBose on June 17, 1930 in Aldridge, TX.

Wesley was a retired Air Force Master Sergeant who proudly served his country working in aircraft maintenance. Wesley was gifted with the ability to fix and rebuild anything he put his hands on and was an invaluable asset to wartime aviation efforts, including the Vietnam War.

Wesley was a faithful servant of the Lord and a great role model for the generations that follow him. Genealogy was an important interest to him and a topic of conversation that would last as long as one would listen. Wesley’s large family was of the utmost importance to him and brought him great pride and joy. Wesley will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in his loving grand and great grandchildren. The knowledge they gained from, and the memories they made with their “Paw Paw” will be cherished always.

Left to honor Wesley's memory is his son: Richard Ard and wife, Pam, of Sour Lake, TX; daughters: Vickie Bryant and husband, Jimmy, of Lumberton, TX, Terrie McCardell of Beaumont, TX and Kim Gray and husband, Justin, of Austin, TX; brothers: Bill Ard and wife, Camilla, of Austin, TX, Joe Ard of Jasper, TX, Robert Ard and wife, Jane, of Forney, TX and sister-in-law: Geneva Ard of Diboll, TX. Grandchildren: Stephanie Malmquist and husband, Matt, of The Woodlands, TX, Jeff Ard and wife, Nicole, of Humble, TX, Codey Urdaneta of FL, Melissa Koehler of Jasper, TX, Billy Woods of Bridge City, TX, Katie Westerterp and husband, Jeff, of Lumberton, TX, Shane McCardell and wife, Sorah, of San Antonio, TX, Adrianne Ramirez and husband, Jacob, of San Jose, CA, Jordan McCardell of Beaumont, TX, Dani Reyes of Austin, TX, Gabi Reyes of Austin, TX; he is also survived by nine great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, his step children: Linda Travis of Nederland, TX, Gary Travis of Nederland, TX, Steven Travis of Nederland, TX , and Cathy Moore of Lumberton, TX.

Preceding Wesley in death are his parents: Cary Ard and Erma DuBose; wives: Dorothy Ard and Ertith Ard and brother: Tommy Ard.

Visitation with family and friends will be Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm at Farmer Funeral Home, 415 North 4th St., Silsbee, TX 77656 followed by Wesley's life honoring service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home chapel. Officiated by Bishop David Long with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Beaumont, TX. Internment at Ebenezer Cemetery, Jasper, TX 75951.
